Tekton's Innovative Two-Piece Design Delivers Superior Performance and Durability

Tekton's innovative two-piece design sets their impact bit sockets apart from traditional one-piece designs. By optimizing the steel alloys, heat treatments, and forming processes for the bit and socket separately, Tekton has created a tool that is both higher performing and more durable than conventional impact bit sockets.

The two pieces are permanently press-fit together, ensuring a secure connection that will not loosen over time. The socket is crafted from 6140 chromium-vanadium steel that has been heat-treated to a hardness of 40–47 HRC, making it well-suited for use with impact wrenches. Additionally, the socket is coated with a manganese phosphate finish to resist corrosion.

The bits, on the other hand, are made from S2 steel that has been heat-treated to a higher hardness of 58–62 HRC. This higher hardness helps the bits maintain their precise geometry under stress, ensuring consistent performance.

The interior of the socket's drive end features smooth walls without any detent grooves, allowing it to work seamlessly with drive tools that use friction ring anvils. Furthermore, a detent pin hole on one side of the drive end supports engagement with detent pin anvil styles.

Included in the set are 13 pieces of 3/8 inch drive hex impact bit sockets in the following sizes: 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14 mm. These sockets are organized on a convenient 13-inch socket rail, which features twist-to-lock clips that securely hold the sockets in place while also allowing them to be repositioned along the rail as needed.

The precision of the hex geometry is a key feature of these impact bit sockets. The six-sided hexagonal tips are machined to tight tolerances, ensuring a secure and consistent fit with the fasteners being worked on.
